After the building of RDSN the Mission's first two children’s homes, when all of the children had been introduced to the Lord, the vision began expanding beyond taking care of orphaned and abandoned children. They realized that God was highlighting new needs in their city to them because the solution resided within them. It became a priority to teach the children how to share the gospel and their personal testimonies. After teaching the children Steve took them to the Tijuana dump to share the transforming love of Jesus, that they had experienced, with people that lived and worked there. Several months later RDSN the Mission built their first church and has since built 19 churches; three in Baja California Sur and 16 in Baja California Norte.
RDSN the Mission's own church, La Misión, is growing and thriving. There are two La Mision Church campuses; one on the main campus and another near the center of Tijuana. La Misión is a house of worship at its core and places high value on teaching its children, growing relationships, and being a blessing and influence on the community. La Misión leadership teaches regularly of the importance of having an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father and being genuine during the act of worship. Because La Misión values relationships as a family within the church they’ve established connection groups (home groups) and intends to keep multiplying those. Jimmy and Genea Horner are the Senior Leaders of the La Misión Church.
